Peter Connolly is a guitarist & vocalist born in Dublin, Ireland. From an early age
he showed an interest in music and, at 9 years of age, took up the guitar. His
natural understanding of music allowed him to develop as a mainly self-taught
musician with vast influences such as rock, heavy metal, flamenco and classical
music. Peter began his undergraduate studies in Waterford, Ireland at the age
of 19. Having studied classical guitar for a year in college, his path took a turn
towards jazz & modern music, under the mentorship of Dylan Bible, where he
graduated with a first class honours degree in performance and composition
four years after.
The same year he moved to Valencia, Spain, to study a masters degree in
Berklee College of Music, where he studied and performed with some great
musicians/improvisers such as Israel Sandoval, Polo Ortí, Alaín Perez & Perico
Sambeat. During his time in Valencia, he has played in numerous formations as
a band leader and sideman. He now fronts his own award-winning quartet –
Valmuz, which have released three albums, among them “Sinergia” – recorded
with the acclaimed Sedajazz Big Band.
In the last year, ´22 – ´23, he has been living, performing and recording in
London with Valmuz and other artists.

Peter Connolly es un guitarrista y cantante nacido en Dublín, Irlanda. Desde
pequeño mostró interés por la música y, a los 9 años, empezó a tocar la
guitarra. Su comprensión natural de la música le permitió desarrollarse como
un músico principalmente autodidacta con vastas influencias como el rock, el
heavy metal, el flamenco y la música clásica. Peter comenzó sus estudios
universitarios en Waterford, Irlanda, a la edad de 19 años. Después de haber
estudiado guitarra clásica durante un año en la universidad, su camino dio un
giro hacia el jazz y la música moderna, bajo la tutoría de Dylan Bible, donde se
graduó con una calificación de primera. Licenciatura con honores en
interpretación y composición cuatro años después.
El mismo año se mudó a Valencia, España, para estudiar una maestría en Berklee College of Music, donde estudió y actuó con grandes músicos como Israel Sandoval, Polo Ortí, Alaín Perez y Perico Sambeat. Durante su paso por Valencia ha tocado en numerosas formaciones como líder de banda y acompañante. Ahora lidera su propio cuarteto galardonado, Valmuz, que ha lanzado tres álbumes, entre ellos “Sinergia”, grabado con la aclamada Sedajazz Big Band.
En el último año, ´22 – ´23, ha estado viviendo, actuando y grabando en Londres con Valmuz y otros artistas.
