Saxophonist, composer and arranger, he is one of the young talents who shape the current generation of top-notch musicians on the Spanish jazz scene. The natural curiosity of this saxophonist has allowed him, from an early age, to surround himself with renowned national and international instrumentalists and composers.
Thus, being just a child, Victor Jimenez already shared the stage with numerous professional musicians, participating in countless jam sessions which pushed him to grow musically at a breakneck speed. Graduated in the specialty of jazz from the Joaquín Rodrigo Conservatory of Valencia. Dozens of courses and seminars held in Spain and Italy, as well as in different educational institutions and international seminars in which he has received classes from great jazz players and world-renowned pedagogues such as Bob Mintzer, Mark Turner or Jerry Bergonzi.
Víctor Jiménez's versatility and stylistic richness make him a highly sought-after musician on both the local, national and international scene, taking a prominent position in formations and projects of diverse characteristics. The sound and personality that he has been able to give to the alto, soprano and EWI saxophones over the years, and his ability to absorb influences and languages, make him a sought-after musician. side man capable of developing roles in large formations such as Big Bands, as well as in small-scale projects, usually assuming a prominent role as a soloist.
Today, Víctor Jiménez continues to gain experience through his participation in numerous Jazz Festivals and emblematic clubs and cultural institutions where he has performed on different occasions alongside prominent names such as saxophonist Perico Sambeat, pianist Bruce Barth, trombonist Toni Belenguer, drummer Stephen Keogh among many others. Likewise, Víctor Jiménez has also collaborated with artists from other genres such as Brazilian music and pop, accompanying singers such as Sole Giménez and Thaïs Morell.
Winner of national and international awards, he has collaborated in countless audiovisual and record productions and produced many others as a leader.
The extensive career of this saxophonist has led the public and critics to see him as one of the most promising musical figures of the coming years.
He is currently a guest professor and collaborator of the Department of Jazz and Modern Music at the Escuela Superior de Música de Alto Rendimiento – ESMAR.
