Teacher and researcher
I completed my advanced studies in the specialty of transverse flute at the “Joaquín Rodrigo” Conservatory of Music in Valencia, obtaining the title of senior teacher with the highest qualifications. Later I took advanced courses with Juana Guillem (ONE soloist) and with Benoît Fromanger (Bavarian Radio Orchestra soloist) and received classes from Salvador Martínez (Valencia Orchestra soloist) and Marcos Fregnani (flutist in the Bamberg Orchestra and professor at the College of Music I attended masterclasses with Pierre Yves Artaud, Peter Lukas Graf, Vicens Prats, Peter Lloyd, Riccardo Ghiani, … I also took baroque traverso courses with Wilbert Hazelzet and Peter Thalheimer. I was a member of the Valencia Youth Orchestra and the Concert-München Orchestra in Munich, as well as various chamber groups, including the Magic Flute Ensemble under the direction of Juana Guillem.
I obtained a Master's degree in Early Music specializing in baroque traverso and a Master's degree in Instrumental Pedagogy at the College of Music from Nuremberg, both with the highest marks. My interest in the history and construction of the transverse flute has led me to continue researching the organology of the instrument and its interrelation with the creation of the repertoire; for this I have been collecting historical flutes from the Renaissance to the 16th century. XX (Renaissance flutes, Hotteterre, Denner, Rottenburg (copies) and originals by Koch (Vienna), Sax, Matins, Lebret… (France), Meyer, Schuster, Lederer, Schwedler-Kruspe, Schwedler Mönnig, Wunderlich… (19th century German) with which I work on a repertoire that spans from Hotteterre to the beginning of the 20th century, taking into account the instruments used in each period. With these instruments I have given seminars in Extremadura, Ávila, Reus, …and for the Brazilian Association of Flute Players (ABRAF) on historical flutes, their organology, historiography and historical interpretation.
Since 2002 I have been a member of the body of Music and Performing Arts Teachers of the Generalitat Valenciana. I have given seminars on musical pedagogy, organized by the Goethe Institute, in La Paz (Bolivia) and in Lima (Peru).
I regularly take part in chamber music festivals in Nürnberg, Erlangen, Banz, … as well as in symphonic concerts with members of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. I have recorded two CDs with Marcos Fregnani and Susanne Hartwich-Düfel.
I also perform concerts with the early music group Trobada Music from Valencia with original instruments.
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Music (Performance) at the Aveiro University, Portugal, with the theme of flutes from the late 19th and early 20th centuries in Germany. As a researcher at INeT, a research institute associated with the University of Aveiro, I have participated in the Artistic Research conferences Hands on Flute of Aveiro in 2017 and 2018, as well as in the II Doctoral Congress of musique et musicologie from the Sorbonne University, Paris 2019; at the IX Instrumenta Conference of Madrid and in the second and third edition of the Pyrenees Artistic Research Conference.
