Trained at the Conservatories of Music in Valencia, Madrid and the Hector Berlióz Conservatory in Paris, Juan Carlos Chornet began an intense musical career in 1990 that has taken him to stages all over Europe.

As a soloist or with chamber ensembles, he has been conducted by some of the most prestigious conductors of today, such as Christopher Hogwood, Frans Brüggen, George Benjamin, Josep Pons, Fabio Biondi, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Harry Christopher, Lorin Maazel… performing alongside soloists such as Marta Almajano, Victoria de los Ángeles, Jana Bouskova, Vitoria Mullova, Placido Domingo, among others.

Since 1991 he has been the solo flute of the Granada City Orchestra, the city where he lives. Together with the Granada City Orchestra he has participated in all of its recordings and international tours (Germany, Austria, Italy, Great Britain, Belgium and Portugal).

Juan Carlos Chornet has also performed with many of the country's leading orchestras, the Valencia Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of Catalonia, the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra, the Teatre Lliure Chamber Orchestra, etc., and on stages, in series and festivals such as Granada (1st Festival of Music and Dance), the Úbeda Music Festival, the Santander and San Sebastián Festivals, the Alicante Contemporary Music Festival, the National Auditorium of Madrid, the Maestranza Theatre in Seville, the Palau de la Música in Valencia, the Palau de la Música Catalana, and the Auditoriums of Zaragoza and Tenerife, etc. He was part of the Orchestra created for the inauguration of the Palau de les Arts in Valencia.

He is a founding member of the ensemble Neo Ars. This group was born in 2008 from the experience of its members in the interpretation and composition of contemporary music and its fundamental objective is to support and promote excellence in these fields. Since its creation, the group has been very active within and outside our borders, offering recitals at important events and venues: the 20/21 series of the CNDM, the Jornadas de Música Contemporánea in Málaga, the congress in Spain of the European Festivals Association, the Blumental Centre in Tel Aviv, the Cerise Centre in Paris, the Teatro Central in Seville or the Alhambra Theatre in Granada, among others.
Although his main occupation is as a soloist, Juan Carlos Chornet also has a great teaching activity, which has led him to give master classes, courses and conferences in the main Spanish Courses and Masters, in various youth orchestras in Spain, as well as at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Granada, where he was a professor from 2004-2008, and at the Conservatorio Pernambucano de Recife (Brazil). He is a professor at the Manuel de Falla International Music Academy and a professor at the Youth Orchestra of Andalusia and the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia.

He is a regular contributor to numerous chamber ensembles, including the Mintaka 07 group (flute and percussion), the Silénus Trio, and the Nayb Ensemble. He is also a founding member of the Taima Group (Taller Andaluz de Música Actual), with whom he has performed world premieres of works by José García Román, Luis de Pablo, S. Holt, etc., and the first performances in Spain of works by G. Crumb, M. Gould, S. Holt, T. Keuris, G. Kroll, Krystrof Penderecki, I. Yun, etc. He has also collaborated with the Arbós trio and the Neopercusión Group, Proyecto Guerrero, etc. He regularly forms a duo with the harpist Daniela Iolkicheva and the harpsichordist Darío Moreno.

In addition to his performances with the Granada City Orchestra, Chornet is increasingly offering solo recitals, with a very wide repertoire and an established artistic projection always backed by the highest levels of quality.
