Federico studied and graduated from the Reina Sofía School of Music (Madrid, 2005), Indiana University (USA, 2008), CMDL (Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood, Paris 2009) and Hans Eisler Conservatory (Berlin, 2014).
As a composer and performer, he has premiered pieces for orchestra, chamber groups and soloists in various countries around the world. Federico's arrangements have been recorded by labels such as DECCA (Fearless, by trumpeter Manuel Blanco, 2017).
In 2011, Federico joined the Youtube Symphony Orchestra, participating in the largest live stream concert in the world up to that time, reaching 33.5 million views. He is currently one of the soloists in the Metropole Orchestra in Holland, winner of three Grammy Awards. With this Orchestra he has played and recorded alongside artists such as Joshua Redman, Gregory Porter, Esperanza Spalding, Quincy Jones and Jacob Collier among others.
As a soloist he has performed and recorded with musicians such as Snarky Puppy, Steve Vai and Chano Domínguez, with whom he also formed a duo project.
He has received mentions such as the Reina Sofía (Madrid, 2004), Young Talents (Boston Bank Foundation of Uruguay, 2006), and awards such as the National Music (Uruguay, 2012, 2015, 2022), Jazz Community at the Clazz Latin Jazz Festival (Spain, 2013) "Best Band Award" at the EuropaFest International Competition (Romania 2013) and Fraternity Award (Israel-Uruguay, 2017).
