He had music at home from a very young age. The son of music teachers and a violinist brother, he began his piano training using the Suzuki method at the age of 5. He ended up graduating from the Valencia Conservatory of Music, specialising in Performance and Jazz, having won the “Mestre Josep Serrano” competition during his time as a student.
He currently works in what we call creative music. He is the musical director of different projects with discographies such as Dómisol Sisters and Le Dancing Pepa swing band, having already recorded 7 albums between the two groups. He does not forget his classical side, being the repertoire pianist of “L'Escola Coral de la UV”.
His most personal work has been the recording of two albums so far. The first one is a solo piano album: “Standard session Vol. I”, an album that freely reviews some of the jazz standards that have been played most often during his training. “Carpesa estesa” is an album recorded as a trio with all compositions by the young pianist. Both will be released in 2022.
Eduard Marquina-Selfa, with an international career, has performed concerts with his various projects in countries such as Switzerland, France, Panama (Danilo's jazz club), Poland and China (ISME, International society musical education) among others. In addition, at a national level he has toured cities such as Vigo, Burgos, Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and of course, Valencia, his place of residence. It is common to see him playing in venues such as Jimmy Glass jazz bar, Matisse Club or Café Mercedes, in addition to having given concerts at the Palau de la Música, Marqués de dos aguas, Rialto and Teatro Principal among others.
