Solo horn
Born in Carlet, he began his musical studies at the Unión Musical in his hometown and at the age of 11, he studied horn with D. Manuel Campos. Later he studied with teachers DJJ Llimerá and DJ Rosell. At the end of the Elementary Level he obtained an Honorable Mention and was awarded a scholarship by the Santiago Lope Foundation in Valencia. He has taken advanced courses with teachers V. Zarzo, F. Burguera, D. Clevenger, S. Dohr, and E. Terwilliger, who has remained his teacher since 1995. He has also studied natural horn with teachers J. Rentería and T. Van Der Zwart.
He has performed with the Valencia Conservatory Orchestra, Camerata del Prado in Madrid, Colegium Instrumentale de Valencia, Euskadi Symphony, Bilbao Symphony, Castilla y León Symphony, Royal Philharmonic of Galicia, City of Granada, Galicia Symphony, Philharmonic of Munich, Navarra Symphony – Pablo Sarasate, Mariinsky Theater Orchestra, Oviedo Philharmonic, etc.…
As a teacher he has worked at the CEM Juan Antxieta in Bilbao and at the “Jesús Guridi” Conservatory of Vitoria. He has also worked with youth orchestras such as the JOGV Jove Orquestra de la Generalitat Valenciana, JONC Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya, JORCAM Youth Orchestra of the Community of Madrid, JONDE Youth National Orchestra of Spain, among others.
He has been a professor of the University Expert Course in “Musical Analysis and Interpretation” at the University of Oviedo. He has also given Master courses at the Conservatories of Melilla, Tenerife, Ontinyent, Bilbao, Carcaixent, Almoradí, Zaragoza, Catral, and at the Higher Conservatories of Oviedo, Alicante, Salamanca, Tenerife, etc. He has participated in the Summer Courses of Ad Libitum, San Miguel de Salinas, Unió Musical de Torrent, Unió Musical de Carlet, Valderrobres, etc.
In August 1989 he was principal horn player in the Bilbao Municipal Band, and from August 1990 to October 2004 he was horn teacher at the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra. In the 2005-2006 season he was principal horn player of the Navarra Symphony Orchestra – Pablo Sarasate.
He has performed with conductors such as Yaron Traub, Günter Neuhold, García Asensio, Manuel Galdúf, Gilbert Varga, Ros Marbá, Juanjo Mena, Andrass Schiff, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Valery Gergiev, Vasily Petrenko, Christian Vasquez, Gianandrea Noseda, Ricardo Chailly, Gustavo Gimeno, and Vladimir Jurowsky, among others.
Since its foundation in September 2006, he has been the principal horn of the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, resident at the Palau de les Arts “Reina Sofía”. And since the 13-14 academic year, he has been a professor at the Horn Chair of the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón -CSMA.
